Who we are
Friends of the Avon New Cut (FrANC) is a community group set up in 2006. In partnership with Bristol City Council and others, it aims to preserve, enhance and improve the Avon New Cut in Bristol for the benefit of people and wildlife, encouraging responsible use and care for the New Cut amongst local residents, businesses and organisations and educating the general public in the New Cut’s history, wildlife and geology.

What personal data we hold
FrANC holds limited personal data, consisting of your email address, first name and last name, if you sign up to our email list. We also hold your phone number if you choose to provide this information. Information about you is held only to allow us to communicate with you, usually through occasional emails, until you choose to stop receiving them. We will only use your phone number on those rare occasions when email is inappropriate. We do not hold sensitive personal information, nor do we share any personal information with others, including marketing organisations.
Where we hold the data
We use Mailchimp (a widely used service for managing communications) to securely hold your contact information. This is subject to their parent company’s (Intuit) own privacy policy which can be viewed here: https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/.
How you can access, change or delete your data
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email contact@franc.org.uk. You may amend or delete the information we hold about you by clicking the ‘update your preferences’ or ‘unsubscribe from this list’ links in the footer of any email you receive from us through Mailchimp or by emailing us at contact@franc.org.uk.
How we monitor website activity
When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone.
