Summer litter picking – CANCELLED

One of the FrANC committee members has just cycled much of the length of Coronation Road and reports that there is almost NO litter – perhaps just one bag in total. So it looks as though Bristol City Council has beaten us to it and cleaned up that side of the Cut.

So we’ve decided to cancel tomorrow’s litter pick. We apologise for the short notice, but it’s great that litter is in such short supply!

To avoid disturbing nesting birds, FrANC stops its normal monthly litter picking efforts during spring, summer and autumn.  But of course the litter keeps being dropped. So we’re arranging a non-intrusive litter pick to clear what can be reached from the pavement with short litter picks only.

We will provide hi-viz waistcoats, gloves (if you don’t have your own), bags and litter-pickers.

Meet at the Coronation Road side of Gaol Ferry Bridge (remember it’s still closed for repairs) on Saturday 8th July at 9.45am for a short briefing and to collect your implements.

Litter picking starts at 10am and will finish by 12 noon.

We do hope you can join us.
