Avon Riversides 2100 – flood prevention in Bristol and its surrounds

Flooding has always been a risk for Bristol, but with rising sea levels the issue becomes more serious. Bristol City Council is working with the Environment Agency and the West of England Combined Authority on a long-term project to better protect homes and businesses from flooding along the River Avon. Once complete, it will safeguard Bristol and neighbouring communities from increased tidal and fluvial (river) flood risk up to the year 2100 and beyond.

The River Avon, including the New Cut, forms the heart of this project and FrANC members may wish to be involved and informed. The project has an excellent website where you can find out more.
