Unfortunately it appears that Gaol Ferry Bridge, the key foot and cycle bridge crossing the New Cut to connect Southville and the city centre, might not reopen until August. The contractors Griffiths have found that “the bridge is in a worse condition than we had thought”. Some of the steel work has been described as “paper thin”.
